A TOUCH of TRANSYLVANIA 3 DAYS / 2 NIGHTS SINAIA – BRASOV – SIGHISOARA

 

DAY 1

–    Arrival at the airport  in the afternoon

–    Meet and greet by the tour-guide

–    Transfer to SINAIA  by  crossing the Southern Carpathians

–   After aprox. 2 hour drive, arrival in SINAIA – the second most famous mountain / ski resort of  Romania  named also The Pearl of the Carpathians

–     Accommodation in a 4 star hotel

 

DAY 2  

–  Breakfast is served beginning with 07: 00

–   Check-out before 08 : 45

–   Meet and greet by the driver / tour-guide in the lobby at 08 : 45 and departure for Peles  Castle

–   Arrival at Peles Castle at aprox 09 : 00 and after a short visit of the exterior and its famous gardens at 09 : 15 you will join the very first tour ( the day trips from Bucharest arrive arround 10 : 00, so it is advisable to arrive there before )  in order to visit the world’s first castle fully powered by locally produced electricity

–   Visit of Peles  Castle ( 09 : 15 – 10 : 15 )  one of the most beautiful castles in Europe , a masterpiece of German New-Renaissance architecture, commissioned by King Carol in 1873 and completed in 1883

–  Arrival  in Brasov arround  11 : 30

–  Start your Old City tour with the Town Hall Square, where you can admire the colourfully painted and ornately trimmed baroque structures. Visit the Black Church, the largest Gothic church in Romania. Continuing on with your visit you’ll see Catherine’s Gate erected in 1559, the only original gate that still survives since medieval times. Admire  Weaver’s Bastion, the largest medieval bastion in Brasov and the best-preserved among the seven original watchtowers constructed around the city walls.

–  Time for lunch 13 : 00- 14 : 30

–   Afterwards leave for Sighisoara with a short stop enroute

–   Arrival in Sighisoara at  17 : 00

–   Accommodation in the historical center

–  Optional  dinner on your own in Dracula’s house where Vlad Tepes was born in 1431 and lived with his father until 1435

 

 

DAY 3  

–    Breakfast is served beginning with 07 : 00

–    Meet and greet by the driver / tour-guide in the lobby at 09 : 00  in order to have the city tour of Sighisoara

–   Explore the Old Town of Sighisoara with cobbled streets, burgher houses and ornate churches. Start your tour along the medieval street and visit the Clock Tower known as the Council Tower, built in the second half of the 14th century and expanded in the 16th century. Continue tour with the Venetian House, built in the 16th century.  Visit Dracula’s house where Vlad Tepes was born in 1431 and lived with his father until 1435 and enjoy an optional walk on the covered stairs to the Church on the hill

–    Departure for Bran at 11 : 00

–    Once arrived in Bran ( arround 13 : 45 ), time for lunch  13 : 45 – 15 : 15

–    Visit  Dracula’s Castle, the place where Dracula was imprisoned before he was taken to Budapest. Bran Castle is home to a rich collection of Romanian and foreign furniture and art items from the XIVth-XIXth centuries. It sits up atop a 200 ft. tall rock, overlooking the picturesque village of Bran. On the grounds bellow there is an open-air ethnographic museum of old village buildings with exhibits of furniture, household objects, and costumes.

–    At 16 : 45 , after a short time for souvenir shopping in the famous Dracula Bazaar,departure for Bucharest

–  Arrival in Bucharest at 19 : 45
