DAY 1
– Arrival at the airport in the afternoon
– Meet and greet by the tour-guide
– Transfer to SINAIA by crossing the Southern Carpathians
– After aprox. 2 hour drive, arrival in SINAIA
– the second most famous mountain / ski resort of Romania named also The Pearl of the Carpathians – Accommodation
DAY 2
– Breakfast is served beginning with 07: 00
– Check-out before 08 : 45 – Meet and greet by the driver / tour-guide in the lobby at 08 : 45 and departure for Peles Castle
– Arrival at Peles Castle at aprox 09 : 00 and after a short visit of the exterior and its famous gardens at 09 : 15 you will join the very first tour ( the day trips from Bucharest arrive arround 10 : 00, so it is advisable to arrive there before ) in order to visit the world’s first castle fully powered by locally produced electricity
– Visit of Peles Castle ( 09 : 15 – 10 : 15 ) one of the most beautiful castles in Europe , a masterpiece of German New-Renaissance architecture, commissioned by King Carol in 1873 and completed in 1883.
– Afterwards, en route,short visit of Sinaia Monastery ( 10 : 15 – 10 : 45 ) to understand better where the name of the resort comes from
– Arrival in Brasov arround 12 : 00
– Start your Old City tour with the Town Hall Square, where you can admire the colourfully painted and ornately trimmed baroque structures. Visit the Black Church, the largest Gothic church in Romania. Continuing on with your visit you’ll see Catherine’s Gate erected in 1559, the only original gate that still survives since medieval times. Admire Weaver’s Bastion, the largest medieval bastion in Brasov and the best-preserved among the seven original watchtowers constructed around the city walls.
– Time for lunch 13 : 45- 15 : 15 – Accommodation – In the late afternoon , optional dinner in the most representative Restaurant of Poiana Brasov ( the most famous famous moutain /ski resort of Romania lies 12 km / 8 miles away on a winding road ) where the famous movie Oscar nominated movie THE COLD MOUNTAIN has been shot
DAY 3
– Breakfast is served beginning with 07 : 00
– Meet and greet by the driver / tour-guide in the lobby at 09 : 00 and departure for Prejmer
– Arrival at Prejmer Fortres / UNESCO Site arround 09 : 30 to visit the largest and most heavily defended fortified church in Eastern Europe
– Visit of Prejmer Fortres 09 : 30 – 10 : 15
– Departure for Bran at 10 : 15
– Once arrived in Bran ( arround 11 : 15 ), visit Dracula’s Castle, the place where Dracula was imprisoned before he was taken to Budapest. Bran Castle is home to a rich collection of Romanian and foreign furniture and art items from the XIVth-XIXth centuries. It sits up atop a 200 ft. tall rock, overlooking the picturesque village of Bran. On the grounds bellow there is an open-air ethnographic museum of old village buildings with exhibits of furniture, household objects, and costumes.
– Time for lunch 12 : 45- 14 : 15 – Departure for Bucharest at 14 : 15 – En route , close to Bucharest, stop at Snagov Monastery on a tiny island ( easy access by crossing a footbridge ) in order to see the burial place of Vlad The Impaler – Arrival in Bucharest at 18 : 30
